By default, Rentastic recommends that you add properties as a whole, as opposed to individual units. For example, if you’re adding a triplex to Rentastic, all three units will count as one property, rather than three individual properties (one for each unit).
We realize that many people want to see the performance of their individual units. However, due to the way that the IRS has formatted their Schedule E’s (by whole property, rather than individual units within the property), Rentastic has decided to follow this as well.
This means that at this time, there’s no way to add and track performance of individual units.
As a workaround, if you desire, you can separate each unit up as its own “Property”. For example, 123 Main St., Apt A could be one property, and 123 Main St., Apt B could be an additional property.
