Update 3/23/22 – Available immediately, Capital One is now available to be used within Rentastic!
Rentastic uses a third-party banking API, called Plaid, that allows us to connect to your bank or credit card provider and import your bank transactions.
While this may look like a technical issue, it is not. The connection between Plaid, and Capital One has been a long standing issue. Plaid continues to push for negotiations and is encouraging Capital One to restore the lost connection immediately.
If you’re a Capital One customer, we want you to know that we hear you. We understand that you are frustrated, because we are too. We leverage Plaid to securely link your bank accounts to Rentastic in order to help you manage your money. Plaid currently supports connections to over 15,000 banks and connecting to over 200 million consumer accounts.
Plaid is pushing Capital One to restore the connection to protect your ability to use Rentastic. However, as of now, Capital One continues to prevent easy and secure access to your data, which goes against open banking. Reach out to them on social media, email or phone calls to let them know you need access to your financial data asap.
Here’s a Tweet you could use: “Hey @CapitalOne @AskCapitalOne, Please stop blocking me from using my apps. Please fix this!”
To learn more, contact Plaid (hello@plaid.com). We appreciate your continued patience as we push daily to get this resolved.
